Dr. Karen Canulla
Karen Canulla MD was born and raised in Little Rock Arkansas. She went to Hendrix College and obtained her degree in Chemistry. She Attended medical school at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She came to Phoenix to do her residency in Psychiatry at Maricopa Medical Center where she was the Chief Resident. She stayed at Maricopa as a teaching attending for four years where she focused on forensic and adolescent work. During this time, she gave birth to three children. After the birth of the third child she went in to private practice. Karen was the Chief attending at Rosewood Eating Disorder and Substance Abuse Hospital in Wickenburg, AZ. Karen has increased her education with wellness and addiction medicine. Currently, Karen continues with her private practice and is the Medical Director at Ketamine Infusion Centers in Phoenix. It is her passion to work in all possible fields to help treat her patients with serious mental illness. She is also passionate about helping family and the general population understand that mental illness is a disease that is very real. In many ways, a mental disorder is one of the most life altering disease processes that goes unseen, untreated and is ending in tragedy for many patients and their families when there is treatment available. Karen has made it apart of her life’s work to help patients with these disorders and spread the knowledge to the community.
